Gowanus

Eric Moody

Growing up in the Gowanus Houses, Eric Moody had a neighborhood mom see potential in him. He has sought to pay that gift forward into the lives of many students in the neighborhood.

From coaching and funding youth basketball for kids aged 8 to 18, to just giving them time on the court each week, Moody has given more than 50 kids from around the city the gift of presence, empowerment and possibilities. A father to his daughter and a mentor to many, Moody is a leader and is well respected presence in the community.
