For over 20 years, Gigi Davis-Elliott had dedicated herself to serving and uplifting the Fort Greene community.  Working with City Council Members, State Assembly members, as well as  the Mayor’s administration.  She has spent decades helping residents navigate housing issues, access resources, and make their voices heard. Whether she was helping families with New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) issues, advocating for NYC Public Schools, or making sure community members had opportunities for employment on neighborhood construction projects, Ms. Davis-Elliott has always been committed to helping the people around her.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Ms. Davis-Elliott moved to Fort Greene with her family in 1970.   She has seen the neighborhood grow and change over the years. Her connection to the community is deeply personal, as she has grown up here and raised her sons here. She says that faith, family, and prayer have helped her throughout her years of community work.

Recently retiring from her position as Chief of Staff in the Mayor’s Office of Appointments, Ms. Davis-Elliott continues to stay active in the neighborhood. Residents still call her for assistance with a variety of community issues because they trust her experience and dedication. Through her decades of service, Ms. Davis-Elliott has become a respected and dependable figure in Fort Greene whose impact on NYC’s government continues to be felt throughout the community.
